Wrong Place, Wrong Time
They almost went back out.
Kaylee, Maddie, and Bethany were thisclose to heading back to the food truck at around 2 a.m. on the early morning of November 12th, 2022. Dylan even texted her Uber driver to see if he was still nearby. But they didn’t go. They stayed in. Gathered on Kaylee’s bed and giggled as they recounted the evening. Who hooked up with who? Why was <insert name of universally unliked sorority sister> being such a bitch?
And I know it’s useless to obsess over the “what ifs,” but still… what if they had gone? Would the night have taken a different turn?
Doubtful.
Because this wasn’t random. It wasn’t a crime of opportunity. Kohberger wasn’t hovering outside, hoping a door would be left unlocked. He wasn’t improvising. He had a plan... a plan that I believe was years in the making. And he was determined to execute it.
